Southern Cebu as well as nearby southern Negros Oriental have been identified as two of seven hotspots of biodiversity within the Coral Triangle of critical conservation priority (Frontiers In Marine Science). The Tañon Strait is habitat-rich both shallow and deep. It is a migratory path for whales, home to many species of dolphins, home to whale sharks, reef habitats, seagrass habitats, mangrove habitats, and numerous species of fish and corals (learn more here from Oceana: Love Letter to Tañon Strait).
We dive all along the southern coast of Cebu. This includes the Tañon Strait, Sumilon Island, and Cebu Strait. These areas are diverse, offering something special for divers of all interests, from pelagics, sea turtles and corals to incredible macro critters. As of publication, the health and diversity of the corals and other marine life is truly inspiring.
We are a small dive center, ideal for smaller groups and individuals. Our fiberglass boat was custom built for scuba diving and it can accommodate up to 6 divers. With the exception of Sumilon Island, we generally encounter very few other divers on our adventures.

Dive Sites
There are dive sites to accomodate all skill levels from beginner to much more challenging as well as sites to suit various interests from the critter hunters to those interested in seeing diverse healthy corals, sharks, big eyed trevally, tuna, hawks bill sea turtles, green sea turtles, and so much more. The wide variety of marine life here is incredible.

The south western coast of Cebu in the Tañon Strait is host to beautiful stretches of healthy coral reefs with many different families of hard coral well represented – a coral lover’s dream. In addition to the beautiful fringing reef there are excellent nursery spots in which juvenile: cuttlefish, frogfish, scorpion fish, sea kraits, moray eels, snapper, shrimp, barracuda, anemones and coral can be found along with nudibranchs, seahorses, mantis shrimp, numerous species of fish and so much more. Both hawks bill and green sea turtles are common and prominent. The area is home to a blacktip reef shark nursery for part of the year and blacktip reef sharks can be spotted in a few locations. In many areas in the shallows, at safety spot depth, the mix of hard and soft corals is breathtaking. There are excellent areas to hunt for elusive marine critters and there are excellent areas for appreciating the wider-angle marine seascapes.

The southern coast of Cebu, where the Tañon Strait and Cebu Strait come together, is host to many large coral bommies emerging from white sands as well as some stand-alone corals that look like striking all-natural modern art installations. There are areas of seagrass and eel grass that are great for finding uncommon critters. Both hawks bill and green sea turtles are common and prominent. Mature frogfish, snake eels, sea kraits, common and less common nudibranchs, moray eels, various species of crabs, scorpion fish, shrimp gobies, sea horses, filefish, razor fish, pipefish, cornet fish, sting rays and so much more are frequently seen. There is much to appreciate for divers of with a wide variety of different interests.

Sumilon Island is home to the first and oldest marine protected area in the Philippines. Known for exceptionally clear waters, a healthy population of reef sharks, a large and photogenic school of big-eyed trevally, a sizable, and sometimes elusive, school of mature barracuda, as well as visits by other pelagics in the right conditions (tuna, sailfish,…). There are some small areas of nice coral cover and a burgeoning artificial reef. Young recovering corals are fairly abundant.
